The Provincial Government has announced it will join the Federal Government in observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on October 2, 2023. This observance is being held to
honour survivors and raise awareness of the tragic legacy of residential schools in Canada. On this day, all federal and Newfoundland and Labrador public service offices and entities will be closed, including the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District and all schools under its jurisdiction.
